Eriksen verbally agrees to join United United aiming to complete five signings this summer
Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Christian Eriksen after the midfielder verbally agreed to join the club on a free transfer.
The Denmark international has been a free agent since leaving Brentford at the end of last season and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for several weeks.
Erik ten Hag is keen to add some experience and quality to his midfield and Eriksen fits the bill. The 30-year-old has played at the highest level for club and country and will provide United with some much-needed creativity.
The Red Devils are also closing in on the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. The Argentine defender is Ten Hag's top target to replace Harry Maguire as captain and is expected to cost around £40m.
United are also interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, but the deal is proving to be difficult to complete. The Netherlands international is reluctant to leave the Nou Camp and Barca are demanding a huge fee for his services.
Ten Hag is also keen to sign a new striker, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford both struggling for form last season. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen, but the Italian club are demanding a fee of around £100m.
United are also targeting a new right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka failing to impress last season. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong.
Ten Hag is looking to make a number of signings this summer as he looks to rebuild United's squad. The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League last season and are desperate to return to the top four.
