Updated 7:53 PM PDT March 24, 2024 MINNEAPOLIS, AP - Anthony Edwards scored 23 points and made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 12 seconds for the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 114-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

Edwards' free throws came after Klay Thompson missed a potential tying 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining. The Timberwolves improved to 44-29 with their fourth straight win, while the Warriors fell to 32-41.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota, while D'Angelo Russell scored 18 points. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 25 points, while Thompson scored 23 and Kevon Looney had 16 rebounds.

The Timberwolves made a season-high 21 3-pointers, including 7 from Edwards. The Warriors made just 9 of 40 from 3-point range.

The Timberwolves led by 10 points with 3:30 remaining, but the Warriors rallied to cut the deficit to 111-110 on a 3-pointer by Thompson with 1:06 left. Edwards made 1 of 2 free throws with 31.9 seconds remaining to give the Timberwolves a 112-110 lead, and Thompson missed a potential tying 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining.

The Timberwolves have now won six straight games and are 1.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
