For more than thirty years, conductor Martyn Brabbins has been at the forefront of British music in a career that has spanned virtually every corner of the musical landscape. From his early days as Music Director of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to his current post as Chief Conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic in Japan, Brabbins has shaped and inspired generations of musicians and audiences alike with his passionate interpretations and tireless dedication to musical excellence.

Born in London in 1958, Brabbins began playing the violin at the tender age of four. He went on to study conducting at the Royal College of Music, where he developed a close relationship with his mentor, the legendary Sir Colin Davis. Brabbins' early influences included such giants of the conducting world as Leonard Bernstein and Georg Solti, and his own conducting style reflects a synthesis of their brilliance and precision.
