Berkshire Hathaway's (BRK.A 0.31%) (BRK.B 0.33%) consistent outperformance can be attributed to a number of factors, but one that often gets overlooked is the company's hefty dividend.
Berkshire Hathaway common stock dividends paid for the twelve months ending March 31, 2024, were $0.36 billion, a [nan]% increase year-over-year. This may not seem like a lot of money, but it's important to remember that Berkshire Hathaway has more than 1 billion shares of Bank of America (BAC 0.22%) stock. This nets Buffett's company close to $909 million in yearly dividends.
